British fragrance house Penhaligon’s has joined forces with the chic Sofitel London St James hotel to created a unique afternoon tea this December.
This December, London’s five star Sofitel St James hotel has enlisted the help of classic British fragrance brand, Penhaligon’s to create an afternoon tea and cocktail experience with a difference.
Inspired by the classic British fragrances used in Penhaligon’s stunning scents, the afternoon tea introduces new sweet treats and four new and exclusive cocktails created by the St James Bar Head Bartender and the hotel’s Head Chef.
The cocktails have taken inspiration from Penhaligon’s four best-selling scents; Endymion, Juniper Sling, Peoneve and Artemisia. Expect floral, sweet flavours from the Artemisia cocktail and a heady dose of London Dry Gin from the Juniper Sling cocktail. For those who enjoy a spiced tipple the Endymion is a must-try, whilst the Peoneve cocktail offers a refreshing mix of floral and English garden flavours.
No afternoon tea would be complete without some dainty sweet treats, so paired with your drink of choice will be a delectable selection of scones, tarts and cakes. Inspired again by the Penhaligon’s brand, the hotel’s Head Chef, Vincent Ménager has paired warm scones with delicate rose scented jam, added spiced cardamom to crème brûlée tartlets and floral violet notes to pear mousse.
If you’re familiar with the Penhaligon’s brand you’ll know just how beautiful each product is packaged – so expect this afternoon tea to be one that is as good looking as it is tasty.
To top the experience off, Penhaligon’s have also been invited to decorate the Sofitel St James’s Christmas tree. Decked with everything from opera glasses to theatre masks, and of course mini bottles of scent; the Penhaligon’s Christmas tree is a festive celebration of all things fragrant.
The bespoke Penhaligon’s cocktail and afternoon tea menu will be available at Sofitel London St James from the 28th of November 2012.
