Jesmond Dene House Christmas Menu

Jesmond HouseStyleNest headed to Newcastle’s finest hotel, Jesmond Dene House, to sample their stunning Christmas menu.

Stepping into the warm and vibrant seasonal reception, gingerbread houses and Christmas decorations adorn the entrance hall. Always an ambient atmosphere, Jesmond Dene House offers indulgence throughout each visit, whether you are there for lunch, dinner, drinks or afternoon tea.

Shown to our table and given the lunch menu, we surveyed the delicious options on display. Choosing the Roast Squash, Ricotta, Sage and Pine Nut salad to start, I was also tempted by Citrus Cured Salmon, Caviar and Crème Fraiche. A scrumptious starter, my other half picked the Chestnut Soup with Potato and Truffle Dumplings.

With two little ones in tow, the waiting team looked after us really well and they were able to have their mains whilst we tucked into our starters. For our main course we plumped for; Ballotine of Turkey, Yokon Gold Fondant Potato, Sprouts with Roast Chestnuts , Chipolata and Cranberry Compote and Bread Sauce plus Beef Bourguignon with Root Vegetables and Heritage Potatoes. Succulent meat with all the seasonal trimmings, each dish was as delicious as the next.

Our dessert had to be their Dark Chocolate and Mandarin Dome, the ultimate piece de resistance. A glittering gold-dusted dark chocolate dome, bursting with flavour when cracking the external shell, this pud was pure perfection. Completely content after three courses of Christmas deliciousness, I would thoroughly recommend a winter visit to this opulent and magnificent family-friendly hotel. Happy to meet your every need, food intolerances and allergies are catered for with precision, and even the table’s bread baskets can be made up with this in mind.

Packed full of the finest in luxury fare and local produce, Jesmond Dene House’s Restaurant Festive Menu is available throughout December. Ever the masters of superbly presented food which tastes fantastic, the service is also faultless from beginning to finish.

Lunch from Monday to Saturday is priced at £24 per person for two courses and £27 per person for three courses. Dinner and Sunday lunch is priced at £31 per person for two courses and £35 per person for three courses.
