Jesmond Dene House Hotel and Restaurant

Jesmond House GroundsJesmond Dene House is a stylish boutique hotel and restaurant set amongst the backdrop of expansive woodland and placed just outside Newcastle’s city centre.

Nestled within Jesmond Dene, a leafy forest trail that is a popular escape from the nearby hustle and bustle of the city, Jesmond Dene House provides a relaxing and luxurious country feel.

Upon arrival at Jesmond Dene House you are met with the grandeur of the imposing 19th century architecture and the attentiveness of the hospitality team. It is impossible to avoid the beautiful views of the leafy surroundings when shown around the venue and this all adds to the serenity of your stay. A copy of Vogue and a display of fresh fruit waiting for you inside the room as well as plentiful tea, coffee and biscuits from local suppliers Ringtons can only complete the decadent feel.

There are 40 uniquely decorated bedrooms and suites to choose from, each ranging in size and space. The option of adjoining and interconnecting rooms adds to family flexibility, with rooms such as The Noble Suite also offering his and hers basins, two flat screen TVs and a rooftop terrace. While 32 of the bedrooms are in the house itself, 8 are tucked away in a separate building right next door to the main hotel should you want that extra touch of privacy.

The award-winning restaurant produces skilfully created dishes that are both delicious to eat and stunning to look at. The sample house dinner menu which is £27 for three courses features choices such as Northumberland Aberdeen Angus Featherblade Steak, Organic Vegetable Lasagne and White Chocolate Cremeux. Dishes such as these reflect perfectly the balance that is struck between classic restaurant fare and food with a contemporary twist.  For the more adventurous guests the tasting menu gives you a dining experience of two and a half hours as you work through several culinary delights. Whether its dinner or a Sunday lunch you desire, everyone can be accommodated for with a children’s menu, vegetarian options and a bar menu for those requiring something a bit lighter.

There are many ways to explore Jesmond Dene House; it may be that you fancy a cosy family stay, afternoon tea with mummy friends or even a quick sandwich and cup of tea as shelter from the rain after a wet walk in the Dene exploring pet’s corner with the kids.
