JW Anderson Topshop SS13 Collection

JW Anderson Topshop CollectionThe celebrated high street, high-end partnership is back as a new SS13 JW Anderson Topshop collection is launched this London Fashion Week.

Back in September 2012, Topshop launched what was to be its most successful designer capsule collection to date. JW Anderson’s eclectic mix of tartan, paisley and pinafore dresses went down a treat with the high street store’s customers, making it the fasting selling diffusion line Topshop has ever seen.

To coincide with the launch of London Fashion Week, JW Anderson’s second collection for Topshop will launch online and in store on Friday 15 February.

Expect a more paired down affair from the LFW designer’s inaugural collection, as SS13 welcomes a reworked trench coat, boyish shorts, buttoned up shirts and schoolgirl style kilts.

JW’s vibe may be simpler this season, but it is by no means boring. As expected, there is a playfulness to the collection and the Irish designer has chosen the silhouette of a dodo this season to emblazon trophy knits and preppy polo shirts.

The statement sweater was without a doubt the hero piece of the Autumn Winter collection, having being spotted on the likes of style icon Alexa Chung. Last season’s motifs of a friendly ghost and piercing green cat eyes have been swapped this spring for the likes of a retro car and that ever-apparent dodo.

Accessories are included in the lineup too, and range from the signature JW Anderson anchor duffle bag to pastel loafers and three inch platform creepers.

The campaign for the collection delves into JW Anderson’s favoured dark aesthetic, as the models look almost haunting with severe makeup and horror movie style hair. The clothes however, aren’t scary in the slightest and we can’t wait to get our hands on the second wave of JW’s Topshop magic.

The JW Anderson for Topshop collection is available in selected stores and online from 15 February 2013.
