Where is your favourite destination?

It’s hard to pick a favourite as I love travelling and exploring different places. However, I do return to Marrakech regularly for short breaks as it’s such a short flight, with amazing weather, and brimming with culture, colour and inspiration.

Where to eat?

Gastro MK at Maison MK is fantastic for French/Moroccan fine dining, or Le Fondouk is a beautiful traditional Moroccan restaurant in the Medina where the best tables are on the roof terrace, perfect for a warm evening dining under the stars.

Where to drink?

The Amanjena is a resort just outside of Marrakech where I often stay. It is a tranquil haven of calm and a drink in the lantern lit gazebos overlooking the palm tree lined pool feels like being in an enchanted paradise.

Where to stay?

The recently refurbished La Mamounia is the epitome of Moorish glamour and decadence. La Mamounia has been known as the fashionable place to stay in Marrakech since the 20s, and the allure is still very much prevalent today.

When to visit?

I’d recommend either end of summer e.g. April or October to avoid the scorching midsummer weather.

Where to go and what to do?

Head to the souks for trinkets and souvenirs galore. The souks and markets provide a huge variety of ornate coloured glassware, leather goods, jewellery, intricately patterned dishes and homeware at negotiable prices if you learn the art of haggling!

What to pack?

I always travel with a luxe patterned scarf, an easy way to accessorise a summer outfit.

What’s your beauty tip?

The first thing I do when I arrive is organise a massage and a hammam the perfect treat to unwind and start the break feeling rejuvenated.

What are your packing tips?

I always pack a sketch pad and camera to capture anything inspirational.

What did you buy?

Lanterns for my garden and mosaic tile printed dinner plates.

What did you listen to/read/learn?

I listened to Caribou – Swim, a uplifting but mellow dance soundtrack. I read The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles – an American couple’s journey through Northern Africa in the 1940s.
