The ICA proudly presents a solo exhibition of the seminal photographer, Juergen Teller, from now until 17th March.

This is the first major UK exhibition of Teller’s work in over a decade and includes some of his most prolific work, both new and old.

Juergen Teller is often considered one of the most influential photographers of this generation, managing to bridge the gap between the art world and the commercial sphere, achieving critical acclaim in both areas.

Teller rose to fame through his music album cover photography and it was his photograph of Sinéad O’Connor for her single Nothing Compares 2 You that marked an important moment in his career. Over the years he moved into fashion photography, which led to his famous quirky Marc Jacobs advertising campaigns, which he has shot since 1998.  His name also became widely known in the fashion industry due to his collaborations and work for cult designers including Helmut Lang, Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood and more recently, Celine.

Teller’s work is instantly recognisable due to his distinct sense of humour and emotional honesty applied to his photographs.

The new exhibition at the ICA in London captures his provocative and iconic photography. Some of his most noted works which subvert the notions of usual celebrity portraiture include the Marc Jacobs campaign featuring Victoria Beckham’s legs flopping out over the side of a shopping bag, Vivienne Westwood reclining naked on a floral settee and music artist Bjork captured swimming in a lagoon with her son.

Juergen Teller: Woo is a must-see for any art, music, photography and fashion fans. This is a rare opportunity to view a large scale collection of his fascinating pieces.

The exhibition is free and is open Tues- Sun 11am-6pm, except Thurs 11am-9pm. Closed Mondays.
