Scottish interiors brand, Johnstons of Elgin launch a home fabrics collection for summer 2013.
Inspired by the beautiful landscape and heritage of Scotland, Johnstons of Elgin is well known for its high quality, cashmere goods that span traditional women’s, men’s and kid’s wear.
That same Scottish heritage and fine, luxurious fabrics has now been reworked into the brand’s first home fabrics collection, which comprises gorgeous throws, cushions and gift ideas. The beautiful pieces offer the perfect interiors update, if you’re after a warm, country chic style in your home.
Made in the Scottish highlands in one of the UK’s oldest cashmere mills, Johnstons of Elgin’s product is steeped in history and authenticity. The mill has been manufacturing since 1797 and is the only mill in Scotland to take cashmere from fibre to fabric, even ending up at some of the world’s best-loved fashion brands and Saville Row tailors. There’s one thing you can count on with Johnstons’, and that’s quality.
The new collection is split into three themes, the first and most traditional being, Scottish Heritage. Expect to see earthy tones reminiscent of the Scottish landscape – think oaty shades, lavender and moss greens. Woven from 100% lambswool these fabrics make super comfy and luxe cushions, asking to be scattered across an old chesterfield or chunky throw laden bed.
For a more contemporary vibe, but with the same traditional skills, is the Young Country range. Taking reference from Scandinavian design, this range is cool and elegant, with shades of cranberry, blue and marine greens. Fabrics are softer and more lightweight, perfect for the summer months, as sumptuous silks, light lines and soft cashmeres are blended with the brand’s signature lambswool.
And finally, making up the final Johnstons of Elgin range is the Pastoral Elegance collection. If you’re after a more neutral colour palette, from rustic driftwood to earthy sage, this one’s for you. Use these gorgeous lightweight fabrics worked into cushions and throws, against white washed wood and vintage inspired, shabby chic style.
