Alain Ducasse French Classics Menu

Alain DucasseAlain Ducasse introduces new traditional French lunch hour menu for the ultimate gastronomique experience.

This Autumn, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester is introducing a bespoke menu filled with French fancies of escargots and cuisses de grenouilles (frogs legs).

Alain Ducasse has teamed up with Head Chef Jocelyn Herland for a traditional French menu that will make you feel as if you’re dining in the midst of Paris with the Eiffel Tower as your backdrop.

With a number of award winning restaurants under his chef’s hat, Alain Ducasse has restaurants all over, from Las Vegas to New York and Tokyo to Paris. Ducasse celebrates his native French culture, whilst making adaptations to suit the local culture.

An explosion of flavours exploring a culinary journey of France, the menu opens with an amuse-bouche of cuisses de grenouilles, commonly known as frog’s legs. Deliciously disguised with breadcrumbs and a side of tartar sauce, this modern day fish and chips offers an elegant twist to what was formerly known as a delicacy enjoyed by monks.

To follow, a plate of sautéed and escargots dressed in jus of garlic and parsley butter will tickle your taste buds, served with a garnish of royale mushrooms and sautéed girolles.

For the main, duck a l’orange will be served, accompanied with vinegar soaked turnips and homemade orange marmalade whilst dessert will feature the elegant Paris Brest. A ring of choux pastry filled with praline buttercream and almonds, this mouthwatering pastry represents the race route between Paris and Brest which patissier Louis Durand created.

This menu of ‘French Classsics’ is available at Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester from 29 October to 15 November. The set menu is served from Tuesday to Friday and is priced at £55 for 3 courses, 2 glasses of wine, half a bottle of mineral water and coffee or tea.
