Net-a-Sporter Debuts Luxury Gymwear

NET-A-SPORTERWith Net-a-Porter’s new gymwear hub, there’s no excuse not to look good at the gym.

As if the pricey gym membership wasn’t enough, there’s now designer sportswear to invest in too.  Thanks to the newly launched Net-a-Sporter – an online hub specialising in exclusive brands – there’s now luxury activewear for every sporting discipline from the regular running and yoga to golf, ski and equestrian.

But the good people at Net-a-Porter, and most notably, Candis Fragis – the buyer behind the new section -has cleverly scouted out a mix of brands (and price points), some which were previously unavailable in the UK. Not only that, these pieces are both functional and fashionable, so can be worn to the gym as well as they can be in your everyday off-duty wardrobes, perfectly enabling us to dash from Pilates to lunch with friends.

As Net-a-Porter’s President, Alison Loehnis, confirms: “We know that fitness is an increasingly integral part of our customers; lives… Women want high-performing, stylish pieces that can be worn all day long.”

The new permanent fixture on the luxury online retailer proves that fashion’s love affair with sportswear is going from strength to strength, and that these higher-priced pieces really are practical investments.

With 37 brands in 11 sporting disciplines and new lines being added throughout the year, Net-a-Sporter is looking to be the ultimate fusion of fashion and function. And with a rather brilliant name, it’s no surprise that this new the home of sport with style.

So what should you look out for? The hub, which has permanently been added to Net-a-Porter’s homepage and navigation bar, exclusively stocks some impressive names: Ballet Beautiful, Live The Process and Weargrace. We’re also hugely excited about the exclusive stocking of new brand LAAIN which has been designed for the way women live and dress now. Sport silhouettes are given orange and cobalt stripes while mohair knits and wool trousers are as easy to wear beyond the exercise studio. Not only that, Net-a-Sporter will also be bringing in exciting big-name collaborations – first-up are exclusive capsule collections from Lisa Marie Fernandez and Zimmermann.

Well played, Net-a-Porter, well played…
