TOWIE star Jessica Wright launches her debut footwear collection with Lacey’s Footwear – we chat footwear, fashion and how to get a flawless look.
You’ve just launched a footwear collaboration with Lacey’s Footwear. Congratulations! Can you tell our readers a little bit about the collaboration?
It has been a dream come true – shoes are such a passion of mine, they really are my true love. The current collection includes a variety of stilettos and lovely winter boots, ankle and knee high. I love seeing my designs out and about on girls who have purchased my collection. I am so excited for the SS16 collection – not long to wait now!
How does the collection reflect your personal style?
They all have one thing in common which is a sparkling glitter sole – very girly just like me! They include classic point stilettos that are my typical favourite shoe as well as cool ankle boots which I just love wearing with mini dresses. I have an obsession with thigh high boots too and have about 10 pairs so I wanted to include some of these too. There really is something for everyone in my debut collection – including a bridal shoe which we all wore at Michelle and Mark’s wedding.
What was the design process behind creating the collection?
It begins with images to get inspiration but then I will design from scratch. The details include the heel height, material, colours, straps, design and sole. I love the design process and then seeing the final product – it’s like seeing my dream become a reality. I insisted on being involved from day one at the design process all the way through to completion.
What made you decide to step into the world of footwear?
Shoes are such a passion of mine it seemed so appropriate. I have loved every minute of it! I never want to stop and cannot wait for everyone to see the next collection.
We love you for starring role on TOWIE, can you clue us in on what to expect for the next season?
Towie is always unexpected as it is real life! You can guarantee there will be lots of drama though as always as well as fun and laughter!
We love your style! Can you give our readers any top tips on how to look red carpet ready?
Ensure you plan your look well in advance. When I leave it to last minute I find that I regret my choice of outfit later on. Also style your hair and make up to be in sync with the style of outfit!
Your makeup is also always flawless – any tips?
Exfoliate the day before if you have something important. Always moisturise every day to keep your skin hydrated and never wear heavy dark eyes with a strong lip. Also for me teeth are part of my make-up – I ensure I’m always using my Diamond Whites teeth whitening products – from the whitening pen to the teeth whitening black charcoal (which is 100% natural) – your smile should be an important part of your regime.
We recently chatted to Sam Faiers, have you had a chance to meet baby Paul yet? Has this made you feel broody?
I am so excited to meet baby Paul I haven’t met him yet. He looks so beautiful in the pictures! I am always broody because I love children however I am in no rush to have children I have lots more shoes to design before I have time for them!
Describe your style in a sentence?
My style varies from day to day however I always think and hope I look classy!
Can you clue our readers in on any exciting projects you may be working on?
My second book is out this year and I cannot wait! It’s a sequel from the first novel and has lots of dramatic twists! As well as designing my next collection of shoes and clothes.
What is your ultimate wardrobe staple?
A little black dress. I will always team it with a pair of my own design of sparkling stilettos or thigh highs!!
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Fashion inspiration has to be Blake Lively, she always looks so amazing. My other inspiration is my mum, she is a very kind, caring woman and an amazing mother.
