Shown to our room, one of 13 which are newly refurbished, we took in the breathtaking view. Instantly calmed and revitalised by the endless waves of the sea, our break began by surveying the stylish and rich interiors. Cosy and warming, our room was the perfect place to settle in and enjoy coffee with a glorious view of the golf course.
We headed down to the leisure club, taking a dip in the pool. A welcoming spot, the swimming pool design gives guests the option to venture outside, a braver choice on chillier days, but well worth it. A trip to the spa next on the list, I began by resting in the relaxation lounge before happily indulging in an Elemis luxury manicure. Tranquil, luxurious and in very capable hands, this was a highlight of the trip for me. My beauty therapist Sam talked through the Elemis products used, chatting about the area and discussing local hotspots.
Our evening meal was a family affair with the two little ones, so we called up for room service to snuggle down for the night after a long day exploring. The meal was faultless, with food locally sourced and freshly prepared .We enjoyed speedy delivery before settling in front of the flat screen for Strictly.
After a sound and comfy sleep, morning soon arrived and we wandered down to The Craigleith Restaurant for breakfast. Tucking into Eggs Benedict, croissants, fresh fruit and cereal, I once more enjoyed looking out on that incredible coastline. Between the food and the views, this was an unbeatable way to spend breakfast.
Just in time for another run along the sands, the children took in the lapping waves and freedom on a Scottish Sunday stroll. Leaving the hotel, the whole family felt content after a fantastic stay, soothing spa time and delicious food. Heading across to nearby Edinburgh for the day, we departed the Marine Hotel and Spa already planning our return.
