Cult accessories designer and favourite here at StyleNest, Charlotte Olympia has just launched a range of shoes for little girls. The Incy Collection takes kid’s shoes to a whole new level of cuteness – think Olympia’s hero Kitty Flats and Bisoux Pumps shrunk down into mini-me sizes.
The footwear of choice by the likes of Beyoncé and Alexa Chung, Charlotte Olympia has become one of the fashion set’s best-loved luxury labels. Her foray in childrenswear proves that luxury brands are no longer just for grownups, but the little luxury market is also on the up.
The collection references the brand’s logo; a cute cartoon spider web, whilst the adorable campaign imagery incorporates lines from the much-loved Incy Wincy Spider nursery rhyme.
There are six mini designs in the Incy Collection, ranging from £75 for a pair of baby shoes, going up to £295 for a pair of boots for older girls. Olympia’s classic Kitty flats are bound to be just a popular with little feet as they are already with grownups, whilst the black Charlotte’s Web pumps with embroidered spider’s web will add a spooky edge to little girl’s wardrobes. Charlotte’s quirky Tuttie Frutti heels have also been scaled down to miniature proportions and made age appropriate with a flat style.
Each pair of shoes comes complete with a colouring book and crayons, featuring illustrations of the designs themselves and cute spider’s webs. Plus, during the first month of sales of the collection, 10% will be donated to children’s charity The Art Room, which helps to raise the self-esteem, confidence and independence of young ones through art. The charity has the Royal seal of approval too, as The Duchess of Cambridge is their Royal Patron.
The Incy Collection comes at a poignant time for the British designer, who is currently expecting her third.
“I always thought I’d design little shoes for little people as soon as I had a girl,” explained Charlotte, “However with two boys now and a third child on the way, I decided to finally launch Incy regardless. Maybe I’ll have a girl this time!”
Let’s hope it is a girl – just think of the vast shoe collection she’ll grow up to acquire.
