The annual Vogue Fashion Night Out returns for 2013, relocating from London to Manchester for the first time.
Vogue’s Fashion Night Out returns on 10th October 2013, with a change of address. Since launching in 2009, the evening dedicated to British fashion and retail has been held in what is usually considered the UK’s fashion capital, London.
This year Alexandra Shulman and her Vogue team have relocated, heading north to Manchester. There, shops, restaurants, galleries and museums will come together for one night only to celebrate all things fashion in an evening of shopping events, exclusive discounts and more.
“Re-emphasising the mission of Fashion’s Night Out, bringing retailers and shoppers together for a joyous celebration of fashion, we are taking Fashion’s Night Out to Manchester for 2013,” explained Alexandra Shulman, Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief, “Once at the heart of a vibrant textiles industry, Manchester’s importance to fashion is unquestionable. Bringing Fashion’s Night Out to its streets is the next logical step in the evolution of Fashion’s Night Out in the UK. London has witnessed tens of thousands of shoppers joining the fun and we’re looking forward to sharing this experience with a new audience.”
In recent years Manchester has become a major shopping destination, no thanks to luxury department stores Selfridges and Harvey Nichols setting up shop, as well as countless designer boutiques and top restaurants. Both department stores will be joining in the fashionable festivities with in store events on the night.
Burberry have also confirmed their support and will be treating shoppers to an in-store DJ and champagne, whilst Whistles will be offering a personal touch with their monogramming service on the night.
Whilst global high street store Gap will be on the lookout for the most stylish Mancunian shoppers, as the Gap Style Spotters take to the streets. And Office shoes will be getting creative, sketching shoppers in their favourite footwear of choice.
It looks like we might need to book some train tickets to Manchester, ASAP.
