Following on from last season’s successful ALDO Rise collaboration, womenswear label, Ostwald Helgason has unveiled their second line for the high street footwear retailer.

The collection was showcased just days ago during New York Fashion Week, as part of a runway show at MADE Fashion Week. The line touches on the signature style the brand has become renowned for – modern shapes, fabric manipulation and a contemporary sporty aesthetic.

This time the design duo, headed up by Susanne Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason, have worked their signature style into a selection of shoes and handbags.

“For fall, we were inspired by the impossible amalgamation of two artists’ works that couldn’t be more different but are of almost the same time: German conceptualist Joseph Beuys and American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. In the collection we combine elements that are particular to their work: felt is merged with bright poppy leathers and vinyls, shiny meets matte, clean shapes are sliced, shrunk or cut away,” explains Susanne Ostwald, Creative Director for Ostwald Helgason.

“With over forty years of experience and knowledge, ALDO has helped us turn ideas on paper into functional beautiful products. Footwear especially, made us consider things like hemlines and how a certain shape or height of shoe can impact the length of a skirt or trouser.”

Ostwald Helgason continue to push boundaries, and this follow-up collection for ALDO Rise only further secures a more commercial success for the London-based brand.
