File & Paint At The Cheeky Parlour

Cheeky Nail PolishStyleNest headed to the blow-dry and manicure bar making waves on London’s beauty scene – the recently opened Cheeky Parlour, on Shoreditch’s Redchurch Street.

The name may be cheeky but the prices certainly are not at Shoreditch’s latest boutique beauty haunt, the Cheeky Parlour. With manicures costing just £10 and blow-dries a mere £15, you won’t find a more reasonably priced pampering spot in the Capital.

With such pocket-friendly prices you’d expect the Parlour to be a little rough round the edges, but in fact it’s the latest venture to come out of the Soho House and Cowshed brand, so not an ounce of style or taste has been spared.

With limited signage on the exteriors, just some arrows painted on the floor and a seedy-chic pink neon light spelling out Cheeky (how very East London), the Parlour is a little hard to find. It’s above the Aubin Cinema, if like us you’re prone to getting a little lost.

Inside, the Parlour is decked out in a mishmash of reclaimed furniture, retro signage and sprawling comfy seats and sofas just calling for a girl’s day out. There’s a manicure area, which is made up of one long bench and an amazing ‘nail polish wall’ where you can choose your colour. Next to that is the blow-dry area which sits behind a partially sectioned off wall  – perfect as no one likes to be watched when they’re getting their hair done. Here you can choose from a Cheeky Blow or a Cheeky Up-Do for just £15 – a fraction of what you would usually pay from a big brand.

There’s also a chill out, café area where you can indulge in delicious baked goods, coffee or even a glass of Babycham whilst your manicure dries.

StyleNest were lucky enough to be one of the first visitors to the Cheeky Parlour, trying out one of their File and Paint manicures.

As with the rest of Shoreditch, the Parlour works on a no reservations policy. Instead when you come in you take a ticket, much like you would at the cheese counter in the supermarket, and wait and watch for your number to be shown on the neon sign. We were seen almost immediately and we were assured by the Cheeky team that the wait is never longer than 15minutes – just enough time for a cheeky Babycham.

For just £10 we were left with perfect berry red nails and a nail paint of choice worth £8 to take home with us. If you do the beauty math that’s really a manicure for just £2. You can also upgrade a further £1.50 and get some nail art whilst you’re at it.

Currently the Cheeky Parlour only has one location in Shoreditch, but if we had our way every area in the city would have one of these. Until then, it’s definitely worth heading east for a cheeky pampering session.

We never thought we say this, but we’re proud to be a Cheeky Girl.
