Whether it’s pottery or art – there’s something for everyone.
A bite to eat in Glasgow
All foodies are headed for Glasgow, with a whopping 307,000 “food” and “foodie” hashtags. In fact, the city in Scotland attracted 22% more food-related hashtags than anywhere else in the UK. So, visit Glasgow if you’re feeling peckish and fancy a getaway.
Snap up Manchester
It’s no wonder photography is trending in Manchester – the UK’s major cultural hub. Almost 100,000 posts feature this hashtag, mainly documenting the city’s impressive urban landscapes.
But did you know, Manchester has even more posts featuring the term “blogging”? Manchester was voted the best city for freelancers in 2020. This could be why it’s aplenty with bloggers, totaling 137,000 hashtags. If you consider yourself a creative, then head to this northern city.
Flourish in Essex
Essex takes the crown for “floristry”, featuring 38,400 posts with the hashtag in this county. If you are into botany and beautiful bouquets, take a trip to Essex to explore the floral displays.
Get arty in Bristol
Discover the art scene in the city that’s home to Banksy. Wander round Bristol and peruse the street art, take a graffiti tour and check out the art galleries, too. With almost 100,000 “art” hashtags, it seems people in Bristol are eager to share their arty photos on Instagram.
But that’s not all Bristol is famed for. The city is home to myriad creatives – there are more than 30,000 posts with “photography” and “blogger”, as well.
A breath of fresh air in Yorkshire
Head to the Yorkshire coastline for a relaxing getaway and fresh sea air. The scenic “coast” has attracted more than 100,000 posts. It’s one of the most photographed coastlines on Instagram sporting that hashtag.
Fancy a hike? Not far behind is South Wales, with 60,000 posts of its “coast path”. The long-distance footpath stretches an impressive 870 miles long, covering the entire Welsh coastline.
A picturesque view in Cornwall and Suffolk
A trending topic in Cornwall is “photography”, featuring posts of beautiful Cornish coasts, sunsets, flora and fauna. Grab your camera and head to Cornwall to snap up the nature.
In Suffolk, people are capturing sunsets and stargazing – with nearly 20,000 “sky” hashtags posted here. Take a trip to enjoy watching colourful Suffolk skies transform from day to night.
Get crafty in Birmingham, Cambridgeshire and Staffordshire
Pottery is popular in Staffordshire, featuring more than 12,000 hashtags of people’s handmade ornaments.
Cambridgeshire is also renowned for trinkets, with many here purchasing jewellery and ornaments made in the area.
Birmingham and baking go hand in hand, with an array of baked goods trending here. Head to the north if you fancy a sweet treat.
