The torchlight carnival is a one of a kind experience and a fantastic weekend of celebrations. Each and every year, crowds of locals and visitors alike line the streets to watch the evening procession which involves members of the local community. With everything from floats and vehicles to marching musicians and entertainers, it’s a real spectacle to behold!

Taste Cumbria Flagship Festival – Cockermouth -28th September

An event not to be missed from the calendar, the Taste Cumbria Festival sees up to 40,000 people come together to indulge in the county’s most delicious culinary treats. The festival showcases over 80 local businesses with everything from restaurants to local bakers.

Lakes International Comic Art Festival – 11th – 13th October – Kendal                        

Quite simply the only event of its kind within the UK, the Lakes International Comic Art Festival brings together over 70 years’ worth of the best comic artistry around. With everything from masterclasses, workshops and expert talks to entertainment and signings there’s something for every comic lover.

This October the Lakes Distillery open their doors and invite guests to enjoy a day sampling the regions finest whiskies. With an outdoor bar, BBQ food, live music and entertainment throughout the day – what’s not to love!
