Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo Team With Karl Lagerfeld

OdysseyHotel Métropole have teamed up with the one and only Karl Lagerfeld to unveil the hotel’s new bespoke creation designed especially for the hotel.

A contemporary installation, inspired from Ulysses’ Journey around the Mediterranean Sea from Homer’s epic poems Iliad and Odyssey, the contemporary installation offers a photographic interpretation of 20m x 3m murals alongside the new swimming pool.

The murals feature etched, backlit glass panels featuring superimposed models adorned with Grecian togas.

With a heritage monochrome colour palette, true to Lagerfeld form, the panels are shot on black and white film whilst the images processed by hand without retouching. The modern images were digitally scanned and superimposed onto original photography from Lagerfeld’s archives from the Greek coastline, taken from the 1850s and 1860s and illuminated by L.E.D, for a subtle but yet defined glow.

In conjunction, the hotel unveils its third Joel Robuchon concept restaurant Odyssey for an alfresco dining experience. With the new artistic mural as its surroundings, the new Mediterranean menu offers light bites for lunch as well as cocktails and dancing for evening.

Launched in 2004, in glamorous Monte-Carlo Hotel Métropole has become the stomping ground for the flamboyant and famous offering Michelin star dining and luxury spa treatments.
