However, choosing the right time for your trip can give you a fantastic experience. One of the biggest reasons people choose Cancun holidays is for its incredible beaches. In the height of summer, the water temperatures can reach 29 degrees Celsius, so you don’t have to worry about bringing the wetsuits! While it’s a little more touristy than other places in Mexico, there are also a number of fascinating historical sites. Like many places in central and south America, you can visit a number of ancient Mayan ruins, such as El Rey.

Perhaps you’re looking for a tranquil resort, but want to avoid the crowds of Cancun. If that’s the case, then this suggestion is perfect for you. Huatulco was once a quiet fishing village, but in recent years it’s started to lean more towards a tourist trade. When you look around, you’ll be able to see why immediately! The entire coastline is covered in divine, sandy beaches. Although the town has been popular for development, those in charge have been pretty gentle with the natural beauty. Unlike Cancun, construction is happening in concentrated pockets, scattered along the length of the stunning shoreline. Tight regulations have been placed on the tourism projects. These are aimed at protecting the surrounding natural beauty as much as possible. The only time Huatulco really gets crowded is around Mexican national holidays.
