The Cottage at The Master Builders, Beaulieu

The Master Builders ExteriorFor a country weekend break that’ll please you, your partner and the children, look no further than the quaint cottage at The Master Builders.

Deep within the New Forest National Park lies Lord Montagu’s 7,000 acre Beaulieu Estate, and it is here you will find the quirky Master Builders Hotel and Cottage. Nestled on the grassy banks of Buckler’s Yard village it boasts picturesque views over the Beaulieu River.

The hotel itself is full of naval treasures; flags and maritime artwork fill the walls whilst the dark oak hallways are scattered with lamplights and compasses. You really do get a sense of being on a historic army ship.

Just 20 yards from the main hotel sits a sweet row of cottages that can be rented throughout the year. Ideal for families, the cottage sleeps four comfortably, with a master room, a second bedroom with two singles and a sofa bed in the living room should you need it. The beds are ridiculously comfy and it’s so quiet and peaceful outside you’ll be sure to get a good nights kip.

Downstairs sees a cosy living room with a log fire and the modern essentials of Sky TV and DVD to please any surly teenagers. The bathroom is of a good size with a cupboard stocked full of extra bedding and fresh towels, whilst the kitchen has everything you’ll need should you choose to self-cater. Lastly, a dining room completes the cottage with a good-sized table ideal for family meals or nights in playing board games.

There is plenty to keep the family entertained during the day. Sit out in your own private garden, take a river walk down to beautiful Beaulieu Village or see the famous shipyard that built ships for Nelson’s Navy. Nearby you can visit the impressive home of Lord Montagu himself, The Beaulieu Palace House, or for any car enthusiasts out there take a trip to the famous National Motor Museum.
