Hotel Noucha

When it comes to Paris, you could plonk me in the oldest, shabbiest hotel and I’d still manage to find its charm, but there’s something about a new, pristine hotel that’s hard to resist. Hotel Noucha, hidden within the beautifully fragrant Jasmin-Auteuil district in the 16th arrondissement, opened this May, and has already made its mark. It’s a typical Parisian townhouse, formerly owned by the Birene family, with all the modern luxuries and comfort of a boutique hotel and neighbourhood hangout, but with all the heart and charm of a family home.

Design

Designed by Jordane Arrivetz, the family-owned Noucha, named after a beloved grandmother, feels like you’ve stepped inside a beautiful family home. A grown up, serene, space with parquet flooring, marble fireplaces and original mouldings that have been carefully preserved to retain the building’s character and history. Modern touches are reflected in the 27 bedrooms, with the clever use of calming colours, patterned carpets and wallpaper complemented so well with soft, natural furnishings and simple but luxurious bathrooms. This sophisticated, understated design provides such tranquility after a day in a busy, bustling city and is a refreshing change from the popular maximalist hotel decor we see so much of today.

Dining

Breakfast is served in their very good looking lobby and restaurant. It’s a really lovely bright and airy spot to start the day, with a civilised spread of typical sweet treats my two year old demolished; a gorgeous strawberry tart, fresh madeleines plus a perfectly simple a la carte menu if in need of something heartier. There’s a stack of papers and hot coffee, and had I not been in demand of a toddler, I could have happily whiled away a morning there. We didn’t get to try dinner but I’ll be back for the Comté cheese croque-monsieu and the Sunday brunch, which serves all the usual classics until midday plus a traditional roast chicken.

District

The 16th is a quieter, relaxed district away from the crowds of the more central spots. It’s dotted with smart bars and restaurants for its affluent residents and notably home to the Trocadéro, which offers one of the best spots to see the lady sparkle. There’s plenty of peaceful, leafy squares to retreat to and of course, Bois de Boulogne park, where Roland Garros takes residence every year.

Extras

Although everything looked far too immaculate to welcome children, little guests are well looked after with all the usual baby equipment and toys on offer, as well as mini slippers and a baby sitting service if parents require a night sans les enfants.

For those looking for the ultimate home from home, the hotel also has a private and fully independent residence located in the newly built extension of the original property. Spread across four floors, Maison Parisienne has four bedrooms, a private living room and terrace.

Hotel Noucha are currently running an opening Discovery Offer with an exclusive 15% discount.
