Mother’s Day can be such a lovely time of year – celebrating unconditional love with a hopeful sense of Spring in the air.
I understand it can be a tough time of year for some people too, so if you aren’t buying anything for someone in a motherly role this year, why not treat yourself for being the warrior that you are?!
Now, unless you have a mum like mine, who gives you a list and details every gift she has in mind (and you must NEVER try and surprise her with something not on the list – her face will tell you what her mouth doesn’t!) All of the Tata Harper cleansers are dreamy – my particular favourite is the Nourishing Oil Cleanser – it removes grime and make up effortlessly and skin doesn’t feel tight after, just glowing! But please bear in mind, not everyone likes an oil cleanser. Another favourite of mine is the Elixir Vitae Ultimate Wrinkle Solution (with 72 High Performance ingredients BTW!!!) you can use it am and/or pm, and you can apply like a serum before moisturiser or use it alone – I love it and use it from my forehead to my chest daily, and I have absolutely no problem with being gifted anything anti-ageing! And if ever there was a brand made for Mother’s Day, it is Merci Maman! I ADORE this brand; each piece is so classic, yet somehow, so perfectly individual I’m building quite the collection myself! I think, in the past, people underestimated the power of facial massage, but now I think it has become a much more familiar part of our skincare routines; helped along by the different tools and tutorials available to us now. One of the most giftable tools is the Olixa Gua Sha; it comes in a pretty pink box and has easy to follow massage instructions. Gua Shas have been used for centuries and have had a bit of a revival in recent years – with good reason; they can soothe the skin, drain dulling toxins away and aid blood flow for brightening and skin health. People claim you can get just as good results without the use of a tool but I tend not to agree (and I was always incredibly proud of my manual massage techniques during my client facials!!) the shape and cooling effects of the Gua Sha, makes self-massage easier, more enjoyable and highly effective – plus just having the tool can encourage user to perform massage more regularly too.
