The Alnwick Garden & Alnwick Castle Halloween Activities

Alnwick Treehouse This Halloween will see spooky goings on at the Alnwick garden.

Where: Alnwick Castle, Northumberland.

When: Events and activities will be taking place until 30th October.

The 1000-year-old Alnwick Castle is proudly known as ‘The Windsor of the North’ and was the filming ground for the outdoor scenes of the Harry Potter films. It’s also home to the Duchess of Northumberland and her family.

The Alnwick Garden offers a wealth of activities and plants from the largest collection of European plants in the Ornamental Garden to the very unusual plants found in the Poison Garden.

The Garden also houses the beautifully crafted Treehouse- one of the largest in Europe, which sits high in the treetops and can be accessed via suspended walkways and rope bridges.

This Halloween, the castle and grounds will be transformed for spooky adventures and activities.

Follow the ghostly trail through poisonous plants and giant pumpkins, solve puzzles and find treats all in search of the Disappearing Phoenix Feather. For the budding witches and wizards, there are workshops a plenty from making spell books to conjuring spells and mixing potions.

There’s also pumpkin carving, and fancy dress at the Monster Mash Halloween Show where Grumblebum the witch and her spooky friends perform on stage, play party games and have a Spooky Disco. All whilst Storyteller Taffy Thomas tells blood curdling tales

Over at The Alnwick Castle the wizardry continues with broomstick training and wizard wand workshops. What’s more, every weekend throughout October there will be gothic guides offering ghostly trails and twilight tails uncovering Alnwick’s hidden secrets.
