Mr Bloom Launches Splash Alnwick at The Alnwick Garden

Alnwick

The Alnwick Garden in Northumberland have just announced they are to welcome Ben Faulks, AKA CBeebies’ favourite gardener Mr Bloom to launch this year’s summer-long water pistol fun, Splash Alnwick.

Commanding centre stage on Saturday 19 July, Ben will be putting on an interactive show for adults and children alike, with a magical array of music, dancing, singing and story-telling. Keep your tiddlers on their toes, and take them to the exciting in-house Alnwick Garden entertainment. As little ones lap up the spectacular show, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and breathtaking view of The Garden. Also making time for autographs, Ben’s appearance will conclude with the renowned family-friendly water frolic which is Splash Alnwick.

Taking place hourly every weekend from 5July and throughout the summer holidays, between the 19th July and 31 August, Splash Alnwick kicks off with a veritable Mr Bloom bang. Pistoleers will take the plunge, lurking in the shrubs and offering up a soaking for those who want to take part. A series of games to suit all the family mean you can dart from the Labyrinth to the Ornamental Garden whilst enjoying a decent drenching.

Perfectly placed for a quick cool down on summer days out, The Alnwick Garden is a hub of holiday activity. The Creative Seed Carnival conjures up the historical value of the Lindisfarne Gospels via a Samba vibe and vibrant music and costume from 29 – 30 July. Grab a carnival costume and play dress up as you dance along to music from DJ and producer Sam Palmer.

Sip a Pimm’s on the lawn, or sample a Pump Room Tour, learning how gallons of water flow through the breathtaking Grand Cascade waterfall focal point. There are also many Budding Artist events for craft lovers and aspiring artists over the summer months, including Poppy Making, Willow Crafts and Lollipop Stick Crafts.

Whatever you decide to partake in, there’s festivities for all the family. Just be sure to pack a change of clothes.

The Ben Faulks event is free with entry to The Garden, and visitors are advised to book in advance. All activities will take place from noon onwards.
