Jaques of London at Ham House & Gardens

Fun & Games with Jaques of London at Ham House & Gardens - Croquet postInventors of croquet, Jaques of London team up with Ham House & Gardens to host a day of  fun and games on the 20th and 21st of July.

With video games and gadgets surpassing rounders and chess in the toy popularity contest, it seems today’s children have no idea what simple joys outdoor games brought before PS3s came along. Well, you can bring them up to speed this July with Jaques of London, for a weekend of vintage sporting indulgence. Who better to teach the little ones about the inner workings of Quoits than the oldest sports and games manufacturer?

Step back in time and get the family’s competitive spirit going by entering the whole clan in the croquet tournament. With some amazing prizes on offer, motivating the kiddies won’t be a problem. Accompanying the tournament will be an outdoor games and croquet tuition so you can ensure you and the little ones stay ahead of the competition.

With food stalls and picnic hampers in abundance the entire family will have an array of delicious goodies to treat themselves to. Set in Richmond, the largest of London’s Royal Parks, there will be plenty of room for the kids to run around this summer. So you can eat your Bakewell tart in peace.

As for entertainment, expect a brass band, a tom bola and a traditional Punch & Judy show. With all this and more, it seems this fun and games event has all one needs for the perfect retro family day out.

So let the games begin.

Tickets for the gardens are £4.50 for adults, £2 for children and £10.20 for a family ticket. Tickets for the house and gardens come to £11 for adults, £5.50 for children and £27.50 for a family ticket.
