It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s the time of year we get to spend creating magical memories with our loved ones. It can be tricky to think of fun festive activities that the whole family can enjoy, from little ones to grandparents, so here are some ideas that will make everyone full of yuletide spirit.

Escape to a Winter Wonderland

What better way to embrace the festive spirit than escaping to a winter wonderland? No matter where you live, there are fabulous places to visit across the UK. If you are based around London, why not take a trip to the magical Hyde Park Winter Wonderland this Christmas?

There really is something to suit everyone – with ice skating and roller coasters for the young ones, and warming drinks and tasty treats for the older generation. If you are worried about how the grandparents will get around, invest in a mobility scooter from companies like Mobility Solutions which will make it easy for them to be involved in the festive fun.

If you are based in the North, take a trip to Stockeld Park near Wetherby, North Yorkshire. The kids can journey through the Illuminated Enchanted Forest, visit Santa’s Grotto and whizz around on the outdoor ice rink. The adults can sip hot chocolates in the cosy café and shop for beautiful decorations in the Christmas shop, full of glittery baubles and festive lights.

Enjoy a Pantomime or Show

If you want an afternoon out that the whole family will enjoy, why not go to your local pantomime this year? With colourful characters acting out funny tales with an array of jolly jokes along the way, it is sure to please everybody. Cinderella, Aladdin and Peter Pan are some of the pantos you can enjoy across the UK this year. They are hugely popular, so get booking now to avoid disappointment!

If pantos aren’t your thing, head to see “The Snowman” live on stage in either London or Birmingham this festive season. Based on the Christmas classic Walking in the Air, the show is sure to captivate the whole family. You can also take the kids to meet the famous snowman this year or take them on a Snowdog art trail in Nymans, West Sussex.

See a Festive Film

There are loads of festive films out this year, so you are spoilt for choice! If your family are taken with the magic of the wizarding world, take them to see the new film in the Fantastic Beasts series: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

There has also been a re-make of the Christmas classic ‘The Grinch’ this year. Take the family on a trip to Whoville to see The Grinch succumb to the Christmas spirit and realise that ‘kindness and love’ are ‘the things we need most’.
