10 Minute Solution: Blast Off Body Fat

Fitting fitness around our busy schedules often seems impossible, which is why we are loving the 10 Minute Solution: Blast Off Body Fat DVD.  Divided in to 10-minute blasts, the DVD is designed to work the major problem areas: arms, thighs, bum, tummy and finally a total body round-up.  Each section can be accessed individually from the DVD menu, or played in a full 50-minute cycle, so if you’re short on time you can just focus on whatever body part needs more work.

Starting with the arms, a mixture of pushups, planks and arm dips are used to banish those dreaded bingo wings.  I won’t lie; these exercises are tough, so ease yourself in if you can’t face the muscle burn the next day.

Next up are thighs.  Lunges and squats focus on that hard-to-shift inner thigh fat, and with each exercise being a classic, you’ll pick the moves up quickly and shouldn’t have too much trouble keeping up.

Following this, it’s 10 minutes of pulses and lifts, designed to give you a more pert derrière, and  a further 10 minutes on probably the ultimate problem area for mums: the tummy.  Side planks, bicycles, and crunches are repeated to work your core muscles.  We suggest investing in an exercise matt for this section as it can be a little uncomfortable on the back.

A total body workout completes the DVD, giving you 10 minutes of a top-to-toe exercise session.

This DVD moves really quickly and you’ll find it really tempting to move on to each setion one after the other (even if you only planned to do one).   The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and although this is fundamentally a floor toning workout it is quite fast-paced, meaning you get a slight cardio workout on top.

Perfect for new mums who only have a 10 minutes here and there; you can fit a 10-minute slot in between feeds, before picking the children up from school, or after work.  We recommend doing the full 50 minute workout at least three times a week to see results.
