Darkroom At Selfridges

Selfridges - Darkroom2015 is already panning out to be an exciting year for store owners Rhonda Drakeford and Lulu Roper-Caldbeck from homewares and interiors metropolis ‘Darkroom’ on Lambs Conduit Street.

Not only is it the go-to mecca for emerging, contemporary designers and is celebrating its fifth anniversary at the Holborn site, but the duo have recently launched a second shop on the lower level interiors section at Selfridges. Replicating the distinct black walls, signature site-specific furniture, and designer fixtures and fittings, this will be, more of a lifestyle choice than a concession!

Needless to say both parties are delighted with the collaboration, which is a natural progression for the owners who come from Art Direction and Fashion backgrounds. With an eye for discovering talented designers, Rhonda and Lula are looking forward to bringing their passion for edgy and eclectic modern and postmodern designs to the Darkroom within Selfridges store.

“I am thrilled that Lulu and Rhonda are joining us here with a new concession. The synergy of the two brands is a great fit and believe that the Selfridges customer will be very excited to find them on the lower ground floor.” – Geraldine James- Buying Manager, Selfridges.

With the department set to stock the same range of carefully curated, handmade accessories for men, women and the home, which includes bold jewellery, objets d’art, graphic prints, textiles, stationery, homewares, soft furnishings and leather goods; it will also provide Selfridges exclusives, making it a one stop shop for home-decorating or gift ideas.

Bringing unique, interesting and quirky trinkets to the Oxford Street store, means that the underground following is set to het huge, and you might pop in for a pair of jeans or shoes, but are likely to come home now with a new lampshade, set of crockery or tribal wall hanging!

Check it out for yourself at Lower Ground Floor, Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London.
