Whether it is optional or compulsory, you are most likely spending more time at home. However, staying home does not mean you should spend all your time watching TV or sleep. There are a lot of activities you can do at home to keep yourself entertained. In this article, we’ll go through a bunch of them.

1. Read

How many times have you said you want to read more books, but don’t have time? As you’re staying more at home, all you have right now is free time! So take some time each day to read a book. Try to find a book on a specific topic that interests you, and if it isn’t challenging enough, try replacing the “easy” books you read with something more in-depth, but still fun. Reading can enrich your life and transport you to a whole new world. We all need that when we spend a lot of time at home.

If you’re going to read for a long time, you need to be comfortable. That’s why we recommend the most comfortable sofa out there — you’ll be able to sit down and enjoy your books immensely.

2. Sink Time Into a Passion Project

Not everyone is fortunate enough to pursue their profession or job with passion, but everyone has a passion. You may wish to set up a home bakery; if so, use this time to try new recipes and create marketing materials to present your creations to the world. Start planning how to turn your baked goods into a money-generating activity while you’re still enjoying yourself. Maybe you’ve always wanted to write a book? Open the Word application and start writing. You don’t have to complete any project that you start within the time you spend locked up at home, the journey is what matters. The end purpose is for you to enjoy your passions.

3. Physical Activities at Home

Going to the gym might not be possible right now, and you might not have the equipment or weights at home. However, that’s not a dealbreaker because there are plenty of ways to stay in shape without the need to lift weights. You can browse YouTube to watch exercise videos or join an online fitness community. And if you own an Apple Watch or Fitbit, challenge your friends to a workout competition. The most important thing is to keep moving and pump blood and sweat as much as possible, which will benefit your mind and body equally.

4. Go for a Walk

You can get out safely provided you avoid close contact with others and avoid touching surfaces that may carry infection. Sometimes walking or running may be the best thing you do to maintain your mental health. Besides, soaking up the sun and breathing fresh air will help you rejuvenate and make you feel better.

5. Activities that Jog Your Brain

Exercising your mind is just as important as exercising your body. It should be noted that watching TV and using your phone leads to the opposite — a mindless activity may leave you feeling depressed and anxious. Inactivity can be broken by playing a board game with your family or searching for some mental games online or in the “App Store” to keep you active and boost your brain activity.
