The drain hole can get clogged with food particles which can prevent the water from being drained. In turn, this can lead to leakages and overflow. To clean the drain hole, initially locate the drain tubes at the rear of the refrigerator. From here, push a small pipe cleaner through the tubes and pour a mild solution of soapy water down the drain; this will help to kill the bacteria. Check the drain pan, which is found under the refrigerator, by removing the front grill. If the soapy water hasn’t drained, there is still a problem with the drain hole, and you will need to put a pipe cleaner through the drain tube and flush the hole with water again.
