The Canonbury

the canonburyOff the leafy backstreets of Islington lies The Canonbury, a trendy pub and restaurant that’s as popular with kids as it is adults.

Accessed through an idyllic side-gate, you enter the pub’s beer garden. Well, it’s actually a shame to call it a beer garden as it is beautiful, spacious, and perfect for children to play in.

The pub itself is warm and relaxed, with comfy booths and old arm chairs to sink in to on a gloomy day. Table service for food as well as drinks is available in both the garden and the bar, but there is a dining room (complete with glittering 70s disco ball) for more formal occasions. Children are very welcome until 9 pm.

The menu offers good pub grub, with mains ranging from £10-£15 and around £23 for a steak.  Homemade burgers will go down well with the kids and the fish or meat boards are great for a sharing snack.  Tables get snapped up fast, especially in the summer months when you can dine in the garden, so we recommend booking.
