Revamped, family-friendly restaurant Zizzi has added traditional Cichetti to its menu- perfect sharing plates the whole family can enjoy.

Italian chain Zizzi is probably best known for its family-friendly pasta and pizza dishes. However, in recent years it has somewhat slipped off the radar amongst the abundance of 2for1 deals, vouchers and discount chains popping up here, there and everywhere. Not for much longer, the restaurant has had a makeover with refurbished branches popping up all over the country, a slick new website, and best of all their new Cichetti menu.

The menu offers traditional Italian dishes, from Polenta Croccante – crunchy polenta chips, to delicious Polpette Al Pomodoro – mini beef meatballs in rich tomato sauce. Each dish comes in little portions ideal for sharing between friends with a bottle of Prosecco or with the whole family for a mid-week treat.

The menu is really reasonably priced at three dishes for £12 or five for £18, with our favourites including Salsicca Al Pepe Nero – sausage with lentils and cannellini beans and the moreish king prawns cooked in garlic and Italian olive oil. The Cichetti menu is a great choice for kids as it helps them to engage with food and try something different, plus they love anything they can get a little messy with.

So, if you’re looking for a mid-week treat with the kids or a girly lunch with friends steer clear of the usual go-to chains and pop into your nearest Zizzi, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
