We had the pleasure of visiting Bijou Plage, a delightful beach club and restaurant located at the quiet and peaceful end of La Croisette in Cannes. As we arrived at the restaurant on a blistering sunny day in late May, we were instantly captivated by the breathtaking view of the sparkling blue Mediterranean sea. The beach club ambiance was perfect for a leisurely and enjoyable lunch.
The menu at Bijou Plage offers a variety of enticing options, and we decided to start with the burrata, which was creamy and paired perfectly with fresh tomatoes and an artichoke cream. The fritto misto was a delightful combination of crispy seafood and fish, showcasing the chef’s skill in creating a delectable mix of flavours and textures. The Caesar salad with dourade was a refreshing take on the traditional and paired the Cote d’Azur catch of the day with a modern touch.
For the main course, we indulged in the veal Milanese, which was tender and flavourful, accompanied by a side of rocket salad and French fries (of course…because when in France). The dish was a true delight for the taste buds.
To finish, we savoured a beautiful tarte fine aux pommes. The pastry was delicate and crispy, while the apples were delightfully sweet and candied. It was a satisfying and elegant dessert that rounded off our lunch experience on a high note.
Apart from the exceptional food, the service at Bijou Plage was truly top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing recommendations and ensuring that our lunch experience was truly memorable.
