PERK!ER Flapjack

FlapjackThis delicious flapjack is perfect for all the family to enjoy. Don’t give up on deserts just because your gluten free, these flapjacks are delicious and you would never know the difference to a traditional recipe. 

Serve hot from the oven or take them with you to work for an 11am snack.

Makes: 16

Preparation time: 10minutes

Cooking time: 20minutes

What you’ll need:

  • 250g PERK!ER Porridge
  • 110g Light Brown Sugar
  • 100g Margarine
  • 55g Golden Syrup

 What to do:

  1. Line a baking tin 20x20cm.
  2. In a small pan, melt the butter or margarine gently over a low heat, with the sugar and golden syrup and cook through until the sugar has dissolved. This should take about 4 minutes.
  3. Remove the syrup mix from the heat and stir in your PERK!ER porridge, mix thoroughly.
  4. Pour into your lined baking tin, and squish down.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 160°C (320°F gas mark 3) until golden. Cover with foil for the first 10 minutes to stop the dried fruit getting hard.
  6. Remove from the oven and leave to cool for 5-10 minutes, before carefully cutting into 16 squares in the tray before the flapjacks set hard.
  7. When cooler, remove from the tin… Tuck in & enjoy!
