White Lyan Bar London

founders of white lyan outside premises StyleNest writer and the man behind our column Dad-up, Frazer McGlinchey tells us all about the latest and trendiest watering hole to open, White Lyan Bar London.

Much has been made in the self-referential world of drinks about the recent opening of new London bar White Lyan. Seldom has an idea polarised or engaged so swiftly, from gnashing of teeth to the hailing of the Second Coming, or reinvention of the wheel in booze form.

There is some truth to have filtered out from the concept, masterminded by Ryan Chetiyawardana, Iain Griffiths and a hand-picked, internationally renowned team. There is no ice served in any drinks, and no fresh citrus, leading to new ways to batch, chill, serve and experience drinks.

I myself have yet to set foot in their Hoxton Street home, in part due to the vagaries of geography and in part because it opened last week, although that will be rectified in a matter of hours.

I can, however, say the following with an unswerving degree of certainty – this will be something special. Very special.

Every drink will be created with passion and attention to detail which will be close to unrivaled anywhere else.

You will find yourself blissfully unaware of the prodigious talent, and hard work which went into every facet while you’re there; that’s the point.

The very building and those serving in it will be imbued with a charm, bonhomie and empathy entirely fitting of all those involved.

It will be enormous fun.

I can’t recommend White Lyan heartily enough, and I guarantee I’ll say the same, or more by the time I get through the door.
