Veganuary Afternoon Tea

Who doesn’t love an afternoon tea? A luxurious spread of mini sandwiches, delectable sweet treats and loose leaf teas. Throw in a decadent glass of champagne and you have the perfect way to spend a few hours- especially in the chilly winter months.

But what if after seeing the animal rights campaigns and reading about the environmental benefits, you’ve decided to give veganism a try? Maybe you’ve signed up for Veganuary, the campaign that encourages people to try veganism for January. Although vegan options are flourishing and its becoming easier to find a delicious Sunday roast or amazing pub lunch, finding a cruelty-free high-tea spread can prove trickier.

Luckily The Grove in Hertfordshire have partnered with vegan Champagne brand Thomson & Scott to transform their traditional afternoon tea into a vegan feast. The plant-based take on their traditional afternoon tea features a selection of delicious sandwiches including- roasted zucchini & smoked moutabel, pickled cucumber, pea puree and land cress and Guacamole & sundried tomatoes. Fruit and plain scones are followed by an array of sophisticated and beautiful cakes and pastries such as Lemon & elderflower panna cotta, Carrot cake, Coconut & chia verrine, Dark chocolate & orange slice petit gateau and Banana & peanut butter slice.

The Vegan afternoon tea runs from now until the 28th February. Traditional afternoon tea is £37.50 per person or the Champagne afternoon tea with a glass of Thomson & Scott Champagne for £45 per person.
