Tapas Revolution

Tapas RevolutionKnown as the Spanish version of Jamie Oliver and the crusader of Spanish food and culture, the ruggedly hairy, handsome and ambitious chef (and cookbook author!), Omar Allibhoy is opening his third tapas bar, Tapas Revolution in trendy Shoreditch this month.

Omar’s mission is to bring the best Spanish cooking to London. Trained under the three Michelin starred chef Ferran Adria of El Bulli and as the former head chef of El Pirata Detpas, a renowned West London Spanish restaurant, he has proved he knows his stuff. His restaurants in Westfield and Bluewater (Kent) have a huge following. Omar has made numerous TV appearances including, Sunday Brunch, The One Show, This Morning, Masterchef and Saturday Cookbook. He managed to achieve all this and he’s not yet even 30!

He has distilled the tapas experience into its simplest form. The menu is concise – only the very best is on offer – and we are not faced with the daunting task of scanning pages to choose from. All the classic favourites are there. We’re looking forward to the ‘Croquetas de Jamón’ (deep fried Iberico ham croquettes)! For the really lazy, who don’t want the burden of decision-making, there are suggested combinations. The wine list is also refreshingly brief. Here you have a good opportunity to give sherry that second chance you always wanted, but never got around to!

Using ingredients sourced across Spain and with Omar’s personal take on the lively and bustling tapas bars in his hometown of Madrid, no wonder his tapas bars are so popular! If this sounds as good to you as it does to us, drop in for the soft launch at Tapas Revolution Shoreditch from the 10th-23rd February, where you’ll get 50% off your food bill. Don’t fret if you can’t make it. The doors officially open on Tuesday 24th February.
