Methodology
This ranking was created by Holidu and Spain-Holiday using Google Maps data. The starting list was based on the most important cities in specific European countries. The keyword “ice cream shop” in each language from these countries was used to gather data regarding the ice cream shops in the cities. Results such as patisseries and bakeries were not taken into consideration. The data was gathered in July 2023. For the European ranking, all cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants were considered. For the UK ranking, all cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants were considered. The rankings were formed by prioritising the number of ice cream shops in each city divided by the population to get the cities with the most ice cream parlours per 10,000 inhabitants.
