Hutong

''Red Lantern'' crispy soft shell crab with Sichuan dried chiliHutong opens at Europe’s tallest building, the Shard for breathtaking views and diverse contemporary cuisine.

Located on the 33rd  floor of London’s iconic Shard, Hutong offers a unique fusion of Northern Chinese cuisine. Based on the much loved restaurant of the same name in Hong Kong, Hutong offers a culinary experience featuring sweeping views of the big smoke.

Hong Kong’s Aqua restaurant group will be launching the restaurant with a fusion of Peking, Shandong and Sichuan provinces developed by Aqua restaurant group head chef Yuan Shihai. Hero dishes include crispy deboned lamb for which the meat from the ribs of the lamb are thrice marinated over a 24 hour period and crisped in the wok as well as red lantern crispy soft shell crab with Sichuan dried peppers and Kung Po wok fried prawns with cashew nuts and chilli.

Inspired by the narrow streets and alleyways in Hutong Beijing, Hutong takes its warehouse vision from the ancient city with bespoke China plates and a wall of tea brick tiles. Fusing the traditional with the contemporary of the city, Hutong offers a dining experience with a touch of  culture.

The perfect location for a business lunch dim sum, romantic dinner or weekend cocktails, Hutong offers delectable dishes with a truly paramount view. And with such a terrible summer, we are already thinking of the party season with a private dining room available for parties and special occasions.

Brainchild behind the group, David Yeo is a Singaporean born British educated lawyer who opened a 60-cover kitchen and now owns 23 restaurants across Hong Kong, Beijing and the UK.
