As a fellow Stylist, it was both my privilege and pleasure to meet Style Guru, Gok Wan last month at The Groucho Club to talk about his stunning new QVC range; Wuli:Luu (meaning “My Love”) which launches 1st October and trust me ladies, you do not want to miss out as I predict a sellout.
The collection is a beautifully curated, capsule collection in sizes 8-22, all of which are at an accessible price point, making it affordable for all. But for me, it is the quality that makes the collection such a stand out. This was something I asked Gok about as I know just how important the quality is to him and this was clearly evident in the cut, fit and use of luxury fabrics across the range.
From print, shirt dresses that would not look out of place on a runway at Valentino, to the exquisitely tailored houndstooth blazer, it *is* the collection that keeps on giving. And, as this is Gok, he instinctively knows which cuts and styles will flatter different body shapes. So, the orange and magenta leopard print shirt dress will look “banging’ on an hourglass figure, you could even add a waist cinching belt to this beautiful piece to enhance the smallest part of the body. Where as, the more boxy, Scandinavian style oversized jumper and denim shirt will suit an apple shape paired with some black skinnies. The very clever use of shoulder pads (which, imho, get a very bad rap when they can actually take a piece from hero to zero) in the black tuxedo jacket will of course, even out narrower shoulders typical of a pear shape.
There really is something for everyone and I just know this is the first of many Wuli:Luu collections we will be seeing from this genius Stylist.
