The British high street and Hollywood team up this season as the Topshop Kate Bosworth Autumn/Winter 2013 collection launches in store and online.
Early this month it was announced Kate Moss would be returning to her design post at Sir Phillip Green’s high street emporium, Topshop. But it seems she’s not the only Kate to be teaming up with the brand.
Hollywood actress, A-lister and all round style icon, Kate Bosworth has joined forces with Topshop to launch The Collection for Autumn/Winter ’13.
Coined as ‘the ultimate winter capsule wardrobe’, The Collection is a joint design effort between Topshop’s Design Team and Bosworth herself. Regularly featured in ‘Best Dressed’ lists, it’s no wonder Kate’s effortless, laid back and red carpet read style acts as the inspiration for the capsule line. Bosworth was already acting as a Design Consultant for the high street brand and has previously appeared in some of Topshop’s style videos, most notably SS13’s Spring Festival range, but this latest collection gives her a more hands on role.
Highlights of the collection have to the sci-fi inspired metallic pieces, worked into sporty, everyday shapes. The Metallic Foil Tee, £65 will come in handy come Christmas party season paired with a leather pencil skirt and heels, whilst simple separates like the Leather Sweater, £125 and a classic Grey Marl Tee, £18 will add ease to your off duty wardrobe.
The colour palette is strong and punky, in blood red, jet black, casual greys. And the video that has been created alongside the collection references the collection’s rebellious side with caught-in-the-rain wet look hair and a streak of 80s, Adam Ant style makeup streaked across Kate’s eyes.
Kate was directed in the video by film director and her own other half, Michael Polish, highlighting just what an effortlessly cool LA couple they are.
