Stella McCartney Resort Collection 2012

Stella McCartney Resort 2012Luxury British designer, Stella McCartney launches her 2012 resort collection.

As part of Selfridges’ tribute to all things Stella launched last week, The World of Stella at the luxury London department store is now stocking the British designers latest resort collection.

Comprising Hawaiian prints, desk-chair stripes, sorbet shades and seersucker fabrics, the collection screams ‘summer holidays’ and offers the perfect way to covert the perennially popular nautical trend. Throw in some unexpected ladylike hound’s-tooth, striking cobalt blues and Stella’s expected masculine blazers and you’ve got a collection of mix and matches that shouldn’t work but does.

Deckchair stripes in lux satins keep things chic, whilst cape shapes and PJ-inspired trousers suits provide an unpredictable edge. The hero pieces of the resort collection have to be the exquisite Hawaiian prints – who knew the shameless ‘holiday’ shirt could look so good? Soft sky blues mixed with tangerine oranges and rosy pinks add a girlish glamour to the tropical print.

To finish the look Stella McCartney has also launched a range of eco-friendly sunglasses using sustainable materials such as citric acid and caster-oil seeds. Modern retro round shapes in sorbet shades of strawberry, lemon and mint are mixed with classic aviator and wayfarer frames. Prices start at £144 and will be available to buy from Selfridges London’s David Clulow concession as part of the store’s World of Stella.

The Stella McCartney Resort 2012 Collection is in store and online now.
