Somerset by Alice TemperleyBritish fashion designer Alice Temperley teams up with trusted UK department store John Lewis, as they launch the Somerset by Alice Temperley capsule collection.

From H&M and Topshop’s designer collaborations to some of our biggest department store’s high end collections like Butterfly by Matthew Williamson and H! by Henry Holland at Debenhams; the UK’s high street has never been more supportive of high end fashion.

The latest luxury brand to join the diffusion line gang is Temperley London, who has teamed up with one of our best-loved department stores, John Lewis in what looks set to be one of the sellout collaborations of the summer.

Somerset by Alice Temperley is available in select John Lewis stores and online now, and gives customers the chance to pick up a piece of Temperley’s signature style at a pocket friendly price point.

The 60 piece strong collection comprises everything from evening dresses to ladylike jackets, feminine blouses to masculine brogues. As a collection it’s very wearable, reworking Temperley staples like lace, boho embellishments, intricate beading and military influences into an everyday capsule wardrobe.

The designer sums the collection up perfectly by saying, I wanted it to be very much a collection of essentials and to design a collection that would provide a feminine and functional wardrobe for women in their everyday life.”

Standout of the collection has to be the doubled breasted military coat. Oversized in a wool cashmere mix with bold oversized buttons, it nods to AW12’s military trend perfectly, but will look just as fresh a few seasons down the line. For those hoping to invest in a piece of Temperley’s signature boho chic, there are plenty of 70s inspired frilled blouses, delicate lace and feminine prints.

Accessories complete the collection with clutches, cross-body bags, purses and pumps decked out in monochrome leopard print pony skin. After seeing so much black and white print at the recent London Fashion Week SS13, Somerset’s monochrome accessories seem perfect for the seasons ahead.

Somerset is the first high street collaboration Alice Temperley has put her name to, and with a multi-mullion pound ad campaign and shoot starring top model, Lily Donaldson it’s proved to be worth the wait.

The Somerset by Temperley collection is available at select John Lewis stores and online now. A second phase mainly dedicated to party wear will launch early October 2012.
