Manchester born designer Emma Cook has made a name for herself in the British fashion industry thanks to her recognisable whimsical prints. This season is sure not to disappoint with Cook’s collection of florals, soft oversized shapes and gorgeously soft fine knitwear.

Add an offbeat twist to your summer wardrobe with Emma Cook’s silk blend tee and t-shirt dresses. Exclusive to Net-a-Porter, the silk prints fuse together Cook’s affiliation with nature – featuring ethereal swans, butterflies in flight, peacocks and crystals. The Carnival Swan Silk Crepe de Chine Dress (£310 from net-a-porter.com) and the Peacock Silk T-Shirt Dress ( £295 at net-a-porter.com) are both stylish works of art will add a dark, grungy vibe to your look –perfect if your doing the festival rounds this summer.

Should the weather hopefully warm up we’ll be stuck for what to wear after our trusty denim has become our go-to weekend wardrobe for months now. Lucky then, that Emma Cook’s quirky denim patchwork print will allow us to wear our favourite fabric without it being to warm for summer. Cut from a silk cotton blend, the Erika Dress (£360 at net-a-porter.com) is super flattering, with cinched tie waist and capped sleeves it hides and showcases all the right areas. Wear with a tan cross-body bag and chunky wedges for a retro-cool, summer look.

Inspired by this season’s tropical trend, Cook’s stunning Jungle Printed Silk Blouse (£360 at net-a-porter)  will take you from boardroom to bar in an instant. Unlike the vibrant, clashing colours other designers have used to create the trend, Cook goes for a much more subtle, monochrome colour palette. Wear with tailored trousers for work and swap for a leather pencil skirt for cocktails in the evening.

And finally finish off your summer essentials with some luxuriously soft fine knits. The Metallic Colour Block Sweater (£170 at net-a-porter) will give your weekend wardrobe a polished look.

Since launching her label in 2001, the Central Saint Martin’s graduate has continued to create stylish, practical and all in all, wearable pieces. Any of the items from her SS12 line will fit effortlessly into your existing wardrobe and are sure to be worn for seasons and season to come.
