Baukjen

If you’re not familiar with fabulous but impossible to pronounce, brand Baukjen, then you’re missing out. It is pronounced bauk – en,  btw (the j is silent).  I first discovered them back in 2011 when I was expecting my son, via their sister company, Isabella Oliver, whilst on the hunt for good quality, well made maternity wear. As I was to discover during & post pregnancy, when it comes to quality, both Baukjen and Isabella Oliver deliver…

Their formula is simple, they offer classic pieces for everyday, work and evening wear in both neutrals and muted colours with a nod to seasonal prints and emphasis on investment pieces. No fast fashion here, understated, yet effortlessly stylish, their pieces go the distance. And this is evident in their sustainability message. They aim to eliminate waste by designing with longevity ensuring the garment remains in a perpetual cycle of use and reuse.  Plus, in the unlikely event that you wish to send back your old Baukjen garment, send back to them and they will ensure it is recycled sustainably. If all that weren’t enough, they donate at least 10% of their profits to charity, most notably Women’s Aid and Save the Children.

However, for me one area that has been glaringly missing from their repertoire was sports/leisure wear. Good quality leisure wear that goes the distance is notoriously difficult to find and if you buy cheaply, as they saying goes; buy cheap, buy twice. So, I am delighted to see they have launched a leisurewear edit that looks all that I would expect from this trusted, champions of slow fashion brand.

With prices starting from £59 you won’t want to miss out www.baukjen.com
