Electric Hairdressing London

Electric SalonDo you remember the big branded hair salons of the 90s and early 00s? They were the trusted go-to salons most of us would choose for a special treat or a major style change.

They started going a bit off trend in the 00s when the ‘celebrity hairdressers’ began to reign supreme, and soon became seen as a little dated and not great value for money.

Well, it’s time for a revival and leading the pack is the Electric brand. The Electric portfolio includes 6 Salons, a Studio, Education Academy and an award winning Haircare Range; it’s fresh, it’s current and it is the one to watch.

A brief history of my hair: I have always been a long hair girl- I wore my own hair long and always encouraged everyone else to wear theirs long too! I like long hair on kids (girls and boys) and I like long hair on men (within reason!) so it was a HUGE deal back in January when I decided to try one of the new wavy ‘lobs’. It took me months to muster up the courage, and I had to have the cut done in 2 phases a few weeks apart to ease me in, so imagine how I felt when NO ONE noticed?! How is that even possible?! (actually that’s not strictly true- my 4-year-old noticed and said “I don’t like it, get the hairdresser to put it back”)

So I went along to the Electric salon for a bit of maintenance really; root touch up and a tiny trim off the hair I was now planning to grow back. Hair Stylist, Creative Director and the brains behind Electric, Mark Woolley, listened very carefully to my hair woes and proceeded to precision cut my hair ever so slightly, at times taking off miniscule ends of strands. So far, so relieved. I then had my colour done for which I gave the mandate; I don’t like it too light or too dark, I don’t like it streaky but I don’t want it all one colour either. My poor colourist, Karl, never lost patience with me and gave me the expensive, luxe looking colour I was hoping for!

The most incredible thing about my visit to Electric is that everyone all of a sudden complimented me on my ‘new’ hair cut?! The tiny ends that Mark snipped off made a huge difference to the shape of my hair and the way it falls and everyone has noticed! (the 4-year-old still isn’t keen) I’m that pleased with it that I might even keep it short for a little while!

Electric is destined for big things- with a new farm turned factory/studio on the horizon where events will be held and all of their amazing haircare line will be made (and it really is amazing; special shout out to the P*4 Preparation Spray that I have fallen in love with) this really is an exciting brand that is breaking the mould of yester year- I can’t wait to see what they do next….
