StyleNest team up with Noella Gabriella, Director of Product and Treatment Development of Elemis to bring you DIY facial tips, so you can get that salon experience from the comfort of your own home.
With a fresh faced look being the dominant trend of the season, an at-home facial is a must. Elemis’ Noella Gabriella is on hand to guide you through the steps hon how to achieve a polished at home facial.
Step 1. Cleanse & Tone
The key to a good facial with great results is cleansing and toning. Cleanse and tone using Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm which gently melts away grime and makeup whilst nourishing the skin with a blend of delicious ingredients.
Step 2. Exfoliate
Next exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells, which cause dullness. Apply this in small circular motions, focusing on the areas around the nose and forehead which tend to be the oiliest. This will help renew the appearance of the skin and brighten the complexion.
Step 3. Warm Compress
Apply a warm compress to face to help open the pores and prepare the skin for the facial. Add a couple of drops of your chosen essential oil such as lavender, lime or eucalyptus to help enhance the experience. The heat of the compress will open the pores, allowing for better product absorption as well as boosting circulation and encouraging a healthy glow.
Step 4. Face Mask
Choose a face mask suitable for your skin type such as Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask for oily or problematic skin to help balance and purify or Elemis Exotic Cream Moisturising Mask for dry skin. Clay based masks work best for oily skins and gel or creamy formulas for dry skin. For combination skin, use both and apply a clay based bask on the t-zone and a cream based mask to the rest of the areas of the face.
Step 5. Massage
Next treat yourself to a facial massage with your favourite moisturiser. Moisturising is key for maintaining good hydration levels for healthy skin. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is a luxurious and clinically proven solution to increase hydration and reduce fine lines. Scoop a few dabs out onto your fingertips and massage upwards and outwards using a light touch, helping to disperse the toxins in the skin and give your facial muscles a workout by increasing circulation.
Step 6. Eye Cream
Gently apply a soothing eye cream to help minimise puffiness and support the eye area. Follow this with a nourishing lip balm to leave your lips feeling hydrated and supple.
