REN Radiance Range

There’s a new addition to the Radiance range from REN and you won’t be disappointed!

As a beauty writer, it’s always good to be open-minded to the different products and treatments available; I would never endorse a product that, in my opinion, isn’t effective or appropriate for skin health but I also understand that everyone’s skin is very different and even if something doesn’t agree with my skin, that doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. So, I feel like I can confidently say that I am fair with my reviews, however! This doesn’t mean I don’t have my favourites, and REN has always been one of them!

I was first introduced to REN shortly after its launch in 2000 and have watched it go from strength to strength, whilst securing a permanent place in my bathroom cabinet (note: based on the number of products we get sent, if a beauty writer actually pays for a product, you know she/he must love it!). The ethos behind the REN products is to “help your skin help itself” with naturally derived bio-actives to support and improve skin function.

Already in the radiance range are the Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial, £32, (a serum to be used under a moisturiser 2-3 times a week, that literally says what it does on the tin) and the Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask, £34, (a glycolic gel mask to reduce fine lines and brighten the complexion) both of which are staples in my skincare arsenal. There is also the Micro Polish Cleanser, £20, and Radiance Perfection Serum, £35, in the range, which are both new to me and I think they are going to do wonders in my fight against pigmentation.

The newest member to the group is the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic and it is exciting stuff! If you are already using an exfoliating toner or exfoliating pads, you might just want to check this out! The experts at REN discovered that the ideal pH that skin should reach with these types of product is 3.5-4 (the lower the number, the more acidic) which is exactly where this tonic sits to give optimum exfoliation without irritation.

Just so you know, we have a protective layer over our face called the Acid Mantle, this is a thin, acidic film barrier that keeps bacteria out of the skin cells. If the mantle becomes temporarily impaired by the use of alkaline soaps or via sweating or sunbathing, the skin is left susceptible to rashes, breakouts and infection. The right level of acid is incredibly beneficial to our skin function.

You use the Ready Steady Glow tonic every night (or every other night if you are super sensitive) after cleansing and before moisturiser, it is so quick and easy to add to your skincare routine and it feels so much nicer that layering lots of different products. It uses water soluble lactic acid to remove dead skin cells promote cell turnover (meaning, new and plump skin cells reach the surface faster), it also contains salacin acid which helps to exfoliate inside the pores to reduce breakouts and minimise pores.

After just a few days use, you can really see a difference in your complexion- it not only looks brighter but it appears cleaner too, like luxe skin! I love it!

Well done REN, another winner in my cabinet!

*Please note, anyone using any type of exfoliating product should stop use for a few days prior to any facial waxing and inform their therapist of the products they are using. Always use an spf*
