Mac Archie’s Girls

Mac Archie's GirlsMac launches the new Archie’s Girls collection, a tribute to the comic book era filled with animated colours ad vivacious packaging.

Last season we saw the comic book trend emerge from the likes of designer 3.1 Philip Lim and Markus Lupfer. Now, with the Lichtenstein retrospective having recently opened at Tate Modern there’s no better time to inject some comic book fun into your like.

SS13 sees Mac joining the comic book trend with freckled face Archie who remains in a love triangle with his girls, Betty and Veronica. Archie’s girl Betty is the stereotypical blonde bombshell who is spoilt and poster perfect.

Filled with sherbet pastels and soft delicate shades, the comic book character of Betty offers a fun and playful collection.

The hero of the collection is the Pigment in Light Lavender Frost and Light Blue Green Frost for a creamy shimmer wash of colour. Sweep on a light dusting on the lids for a sheer wash of colour or build for a more intense look for the evenings.

The Eyeshadow palette in Caramel Sundae offers a quad of four wearable shades, presented in the Archie’s Girls Limited Edition packaging. High pigmented formula offers a rich finish in a range of natural shades which can be blended together or worn alone.

For a more intense look, Archie’s girl Veronica offers a more intense collection filled with deeper shades of plums and violets for a more seductress look. Goodbye to the candy kitten of Betty and hello to the vibrant vixen which is Veronica. The envy of every girl, the Veronica collection is smouldering in seductive shades such as Boyfriend Stealer Deep Blackened Plum, Ronnie Red Bright Red and Daddy’s Little Girl.

Every vixen needs a daring nail polish, and the limited edition shades inspired by Veronica. Shades Past Curfew Deep Berry and Double Trouble Deep Navy are ideal for summer evenings paired with summer prints. Formulated with UV protection and a no chip and streak formula, the high shine polish offers both a protective shield as well as sultry finish.

Take inspiration from the SS13 catwalks and experiment with your new Archie’s Girls collection. At Peter Som SS13, we saw a rainbow of powdery pastels making statement looks down the runway as well as dark lips at Burberry Prorsum, giving a vampy look. Jonathan Sunders also embellished gothic beauty with dark eyes and lips for an edgy spring/summer 13 look. The Betty and Veronica looks are easily married, whether you wear your shades across all spectrums or simply as a focal statement point.
