Gazelli is an Azerbaijani skincare brand that encapsulates the beauty of the country within its stunning products.
Azerbaijan is definitely experiencing a cultural ‘moment’ as of late. From pop-up restaurants and Olympic success to the dizzying heights of the Eurovision song contest, this country is on the map.
Created by Dr Zamira Hamzayeva and her daughter Jamila, Gazelli utilises the power of active natural ingredients grown in Azerbaijan. Each ingredient has been hand selected based on the potency of its health-giving properties and the knowhow of the local communities that hand harvest them.
‘‘I wanted to connect all the facets of who we are as women, and develop something that reflected us all; a creation which would combine the healer, the nurturer, the love of beauty and culture, the practical woman and the woman who takes pleasure in making an impact on the world around her,” explains Dr Hamzayeva.
The name Gazelli derives from Ghazel, a form of lyrical poetry that praises beauty, health and love. All packaging is inscribed with a short Ghazel poem, drawings of local tapestry and scenes of rural life, establishing the products as extremely beautiful on the outside as well as in.
The collection revolves around a key ingredient, the white healing oil, which forms the basis of the Triple Youth Complex. The white oil occurs from the Naftalan region of Azerbaijan. The oil works to increase metabolic processes at the cellular level, improving the skins ability to absorb nutrients and oxygen, working to create a tighter and firmer skin surface. Plus, it smells absolutely heavenly.
From the white oil, the Triple Youth Complex was formed and complemented with natural, luxury ingredients such as pomegranate, pumpkin, black tea, fig and black mulberry in order to regenerate and nourish skin.
Highlights of this stunning collection include the Gazelli Intensive Age Repair Cream, £60. This luxuriously rich, yet delicate cream promises to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst helping to improve skin’s elasticity. Extract of black mulberry is rich in antioxidant properties and will protect skin from future damage.
The absolute hero product of this collection has to be the Gazelli Triple Youth Ultra Nourishing Saviour Mask, £28. This nourishing mask smells divine and worn overnight, leaves skin highly moisturised and visibly radiant. An absolute must-have.
